FALL COLOR 2007

Autumn in West Michigan is a beautiful time of year, even if it's short-lived and gives way to a long, dreary winter. Even with drought conditions, the trees manage to put on a show.

Very pretty Foozy! The leaves did not look that nice around here. I think it was due in part to the weather being abnormally warm this fall.

We had a hot spell too, it got into the upper 80's.... freaked all the plants out.

Its really been an odd year for everyone as far as the weather is concerned... makes me wonder....

I just hope we have a mild winter. I'm not ready to go trouncing about in asshole-deep snow anytime soon... :)

I like these pictures very much. They are calming and reassurning and remind of simpler times. Here in the NYC area the leaves have been slow to change and the weather has not been fall like at all until s few days ago.

I'm glad you are enjoying the photos, and believe me, regarding the weather, I can sympathize, Kai.

Our summer turned to fall just a bit ago, and already, we exhausted our "nice" fall days, for the most part, so we are into the cold, mostly leafless stretch now...

Once everything goes drab, and the trees are naked.... the fun of autumn is gone for me. The photos are a nice reminder of what I look forward to every year.

Although Michigan's economy is pretty much in the toilet right now, I don't think I'd really want to live anyplace else, aesthetically speaking. We have plenty of places to escape to, and I live for those chances to make that escape. The photos are the souvenirs from my adventures, I suppose.

I hope all is well with you, Kai, and I'm pleased to provide you with some solace via my photos.

Yeah, same here in Virginia. That "Indian Summer" this year killed the natural beauty of the foliage. It still is pretty despite that. Those are really nice photos Foozy. I wish I could get out of this place and go for a nice walk there.

Thank you, villachez. Its not so rainy and gloomy today. It would be a decent day for a walk... partly sunny and 50 degrees... the trees still have some color, but we are definitely past peak. The forecast is calling for partly sunny and upper 50's through week's end... I may just have to get out there again before its gone.

Beautiful! We don't get that fall color here in the desert. Not much definition between the seasons. Ah, but the winters are the envy of everyone in the colder climes. No asshole-deep snow! Summer? Forget about it. You're ass-deep in sweat...
