This is cheating and I sort of suspect against the rules, because it's mainly another load of my horseshit and the film comes down to nothing more than a YouTube link. But it's original work, even if I can't find whatever shoebox the original footage is in.
So, yeah, the fucking dog ate my homework, I swear to God, Mrs. Piles.
I've been too busy to bore you all much lately, planning an imperialist invasion of a country the the 48 contiguous outfits of United States of America borders which is not Canada. Being both an ardent militarist and an eternal optimist,
The Old Handful Of Light Trick
I suspect this invasion I'm responsible for will be recorded in our glorious history as "The E-Bay Of Pigs."
I honestl do have a couple of serious (and, naturally, seriously depressing) things ready to go, but for today, I'm more in the mood for pop music and lethally primitive filmaking.
The artist, the estimible Jeffrey Dean Foster wanted a video feel along the lines of D.A.Pennebakers legendary Dylan flick, "Don't Look Back." So that's what I tried to provide. I had honestly forgotten this film until I heard that it had turned up on YouTube (does this mean I get to bounce on top of Pamela Anderson?) yesterday.
Pulling off mid-60s style black and white is sort of a challenge, so I used one genuinely fine camera and a couple of my yard-sale Super 8's to shoot this stuff at the legendary rock-and-roll bucket of blood, The Garage. Fucking up the focus is pretty easy with a modern camera with a remote control, but getting the doped-to-the-gills shakiness involved thowing things (like people, for instance) at the tripod. The bit is at:

A favourite as you know, please say you took at least a few hundred feet to Mexico, Think Chuck would look pretty damn good in Super 8.

Just got back from shooting him (yup, Super 8 and with a hi-tech digital as well) in San Francisco playing the new record in sequence without encores.
A magnificent evening, taped on my four-track machine, my bizarro cameras and with a big-ass crew of film professionals.(Although I _do_ qualify.)
But Jesus, am I tired.

Mister H: You know the tech stuff way better than me. So help me out here, if you would. There's a smooth 'doesn't need buffering' version on Vimeo which is a lovely site, but also requires a brief sign-up process -- albeit no fee. Then there's the easy to grab YouTube version which, unfortunately, doesn't synch 100%. And then yet again, I could get the film folks or Katie to download it directly onto the Brink. Which seems best to you? There are also Chuck vs. Guy episodes where we're just on the telephone and I'm being the blabbering idiot everyone here already knows I, in fact, _am_.
