Chuck Prophet Found Alive!
Comrades:
I have returned from the mission you honored me with and I must report. Existence ofPerson of Interest has been documented according to Party standards. Earlier field reports judged unreliable have been confirmed. POI is a musician and indeed a highly accomplished one. Headquarters should accept Agent Blet Bletsovka's report; "Chuck Prophet fucking _rules_" as accurate observation. Observation and surveilance footage (attached) was conducted in Ohio's city of The Columbus 17 January.08. Performance recorded is a compostion entitled "New Years Day" from immortal studio recordding "Homemade Blood." Suggest raising security status to level B; POI easily convinced and aroused a group of followers which included many Ohio, Columbus high authorities. Reeturning to Central soonest. And fucking Moscow's going to feel like Barbados after this goddamned Columbus place, know what I mean?
Toward Glory!

FBI Field Office Charlotte, NC
Att: Foreign Counterintelligence Desk
Original suspicions concerning subject Guy Neal Williams aka "The Quaker" are confirmed. Repeat CONFIRMED.
Submitted as evidence see above.
As to his associate Chuck Prophet, he has his own problems, lost inside his skin, Groundhog Day syndrome, etc. Will continue surveillance.
Yours truly,
Reno Sepulveda
San Joaquin Branch Office
PS Could you also check again about that decoder ring I've been requesting for like three years now? Agent Lewis promised me one but he is not returning my calls.

That's funny as hell, Reno, I really _am_ within the Charlotte Field Office, but there's no agent named Lewis there any longer. Perhaps a bad sign as to my character: trust me on knowing the current roster of agents assigned there. A hint: they are _not_ friends of mine.
Also, feel like coming up with a list the five greatest westerns of all time for this year's Editor's Retreat in Arizona? I'll write you privately about this. You'll be at the Retreat, of course.
Paul: the lighting in the venue was virtually impossible to deal with, so Katie shot it. Weird, weird German joint, historic, built to house the Mannechor (some Lutheran dealio we were supposed to be impressed by -- the Germanic men's and boy's choral groups). But the place was beyond packed and Chuck knocked 'em dead. Sold every merch disc he had in about six seconds. But I have never in my life been so cold as I was 1/17 and 18 in Columbus. Think about it this way: it was colder than anything I ever endured even in Moscow.

That was awesome. Well done, Katie and Guy! And of course Chuck, for whatever small role he may have had in the making of this video...

Aren't you a bit overdue in sending fly-fishing stuff, words and pictures, to Jim Parks' Outdoor page?
Wednesday, 28 January 2009
Yes I am. Home with the flu on the couch with a dog keeping my feet warm. Perhaps today is the perfect day.
And also a good day to write about fly fishing...

Zog says: "This is the cat's meow, and I played this on New Year Day around the campfire a few years ago."

I've technically far superior film of him doing this song this way (he calls it "Naked New Year's") from last year because the lighting conditions were favorable, but a bad microphone setting is seriously irritating because of drunken crowd noise. Anyway, wish I could mate the two, but I haven't even gotten either of them aroused yet. And weren't you going to send me Zog's FB address?
