Hope for what?

More government spending and expansion. Or is it for more politics guided by special interests and lobbyists rather than by the will of the people.

I guess you can hope Obama will be better than Bush was or better than McCain would be, but you can't hope for much more. Whoever wins, four years from now will have no more than a 40% approval rating, I guarantee it.

But I guess we will see what goes down and "hope" our nation doesn't fall apart too soon.

P.S. - It's very un-Brink like to go with the mainstream. I am shocked!

just in case you haven't noticed, the falling apart has already happened, we can hope to pull it back together again, and hope we are not humpty dumpty.....spending and expansion, lets see, how much have we been spending that we do not have on an occupation that we shouldn't be continuing....wonder how many of yours and my phone calls have been logged.....i would hope that the lies will stop, that just saying something doesn't make it true, that johnny mac has a quiet retirement and stops endangering people with his "decisions"....or, we can just be hopeful that tomorrow brings a better day than yesterday.

A year ago I might not have minded John McCain being President. I think I've even voted for him as senator here in AZ. I am for Obama, but McCain wouldn't have been the end of the world. McCain has shown a willingness to work across the aisle, and he has supported fighting global warming -- really the biggest issue facing the world. But...BUT...then he chose Sarah Palin as his VP running mate. She was clearly an appeal to the far right wing base of the Republican party. I and many others -- even numerous conservative Rupublicans -- think that Palin is not qualified to be President. And that's the MAIN JOB of the VP -- second string President, to assume the office if the President dies or is incapacitated. NO EFFING WAY! This lapse of judgment on John McCain's part led me to believe that he is not just the second best candidate for the presidency, he is actually a very bad CHOICE.

From over here, back in Blighty it looks like he's obviously giving her one. Our lot are shagging all over the place, sort of like The Hellfire Club 'scene' for the people who hang out in the big house with the pointy clock. Reductionism, fuck me this Haggis is strong.
